RDNH Case D2020-0011
- by Staff
The WIPO domain name dispute case D2020-0011 involved Valentino S.p.A., a well-known Italian luxury brand, against Lijin Liu of China over the domain name . The complainant, Valentino S.p.A., argued that the domain name was confusingly similar to its registered VALENTINO trademark and that the respondent had no legitimate interests in it, using it in bad faith. The domain initially led to a website offering presumed counterfeit Valentino products at low prices, and later redirected to a default Windows server page. The panel found in favor of Valentino S.p.A., ordering the transfer of the domain name to the complainant, acknowledging the bad faith registration and use of the domain name by the respondent.
