RDNH Case D2014-1937
- by Staff
The domain name dispute case D2014-1937 involved the complainant Booked Ltd and the respondent Dominic Hulewicz, concerning the disputed domain name “booked.com.” Booked Ltd filed the complaint after being incorporated in July 2014 and owning UK registered trademarks for “booked.xyz” and “booked.com,” registered in October 2014. The respondent, Hulewicz, had registered the domain name “booked.com” in January 1999, which was used for a parking page with pay-per-click links. The WIPO panel found that the complaint was brought in bad faith and constituted an abuse of the administrative proceeding, labeling it as Reverse Domain Name Hijacking. The panel concluded that the complainant’s case had no reasonable prospect of success since the domain name was registered long before the complainant’s existence and trademark registration. This decision was reached on January 14, 2015.
